The Ugandan marketing industry reached a new height this week after the successful launch of the inaugural “Women in Marketing Summit & Honors 2025“, an inspiring event dedicated to celebrating the creativity, resilience, and leadership of women transforming the marketing landscape in Uganda.

The event was organized by Evolve Group Africa and it took place on July 24, 2025 at the Kampala Serena Hotel. This summit gathered a dynamic mix of marketing professionals, thought leaders, corporate sponsors, and young innovators. The event spotlighted women driving change in an increasingly competitive and digital-first marketing world.

A PLATFORM FOR LEADERSHIP, LEARNING, AND RECOGNITION

First and foremost, this summit was designed to not only recognize outstanding women marketers but to also facilitate dialogue, mentorship, and professional development. Attendees participated in thought-provoking panel discussions, keynote presentations, and fireside chats. It was led by some of the country’s most respected marketing voices.

Among the notable speakers and panelists were:

* Charity Winnie Kamusiime, Manager of Brand and Marketing at Dfcu Bank
* Jackie Namara Rukare, Managing Director at Uguru Consult Limited
* Connie Nankya, Communications Lead at World Vision Uganda

During the event, these professionals shared their personal journeys, the challenges faced by women in the industry, and also how they have navigated leadership in traditionally male-dominated spaces. The topics discussed ranged from brand storytelling, inclusive campaigns, digital disruption and to mentoring the next generation of marketers.

CORPORATE SUPPORT AND PARTNERSHIPS

This summit was significantly supported by corporate endorsement, with I\&M Bank Uganda a proud headline sponsor. In a public statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the bank emphasized its commitment to gender inclusion and marketing innovation stating that:-

We proudly stand with women who are redefining the marketing landscape with fresh ideas, fearless storytelling, and purpose-driven impact.

Also the event was supported by Centenary Bank, Vision Group, and Uganda Breweries Ltd in addition to I\&M Bank. All of these brands recognized the event’s importance in advancing professional development and equitable representation in corporate marketing leadership.

Furthermore, these partnerships not only elevated the prestige of the event, they also pointed out the increasing importance of private sector engagement in championing gender equality and talent development within Uganda’s professional e environment.

A STYLISH AND PURPOSEFUL CELEBRATION

Branded under the theme“Suits & Sneakers”, this summit contained a vibrant mix of professionalism and creativity. Social media was abuzz with posts from attendees and media partners showcasing stylish guests, dynamic speakers, and the celebratory mood of the day.

But beyond the visual excitement, the summit delivered a deeper message: that marketing is not just about promotion—it is a strategic driver of business growth, cultural influence, and social transformation, and women are playing a central role in this evolution.

LAUNCH OF THE WOMEN IN MARKETING UGANDA CHAPTER

The event also marked the official launch of the Women in Marketing Uganda Chapter. This is a new non-profit professional network committed to empowering women in the field. The organization will focus on mentorship, professional training, recognition, and advocacy—providing long-term support to women across the spectrum of marketing disciplines.

This chapter becomes part of a bigger regional and global movement as ot aligns with the mission to create more inclusive, innovative, and impactful marketing leadership.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Women in Marketing Summit & Honors 2025 was not just a one-day celebration—it was also a bold step toward creating a more inclusive, equitable, and dynamic industry in Uganda. It went ahead to affirm that empowering women in marketing is not only a moral necessity but also a business and creative need.

As the Women in Marketing Uganda Chapter begins its journey, the future is undoubtedly bright for the next generation of female marketers, strategists, brand builders, and entrepreneurs. These are projected to reshape how Ugandan stories are told plus how brands connect with audiences.
