Jubilation as Mawejje M Dimma Receives Funds from Dolphin Fund

It was a moment of excitement when Muhammed Dimma Mawejje of Mawejje Creations received over Shs600, 000 from a fundraising campaign he recently set up with the Dolphin Fund platform.

Mawejje Creations is a social enterprise and banana fiber center which develops affordable banana fiber products to reduce banana waste, enable banana growers earn extra income while creating jobs opportunity for disadvantaged youth and women in rural and urban communities in Uganda.

This is done through banana fiber production and extraction, incubation and hands-on skills training.

On May 19, 2020, Mawejje Creations set up a fundraising campaign to raise a total of Shs400, 000 to enable training and equipping 16 younger people in the community.

In less than a month, the campaign had been funded to 171.38 percent raising a total of Shs685, 500 and this was handed over to the fundraiser on Saturday 4th, July 2020 by Dolphin Fund Chief Executive Officer, Dickson Mushabe.

While receiving the donation, Mawejje appreciated friends and well-wishers who generously contributed to the campaign as well as Dickson Mushabe for setting up Dolphin platform that is improving peoples livelihoods.

I am so excited that we began as an idea of setting up a fundraising campaign has come to having raised 171.3%. I have received the cheque from Dolphin fund and the money has been transferred to the companys account, Mawejje said.

He added that, The reason we decided to use DOLPHINFUND platform is because its first and secure Ugandan Platform which has come forward to support communities to link them with their supporters across the world. The methods of payment are safe and secure with flutter wave and MTN moblie money.

Mawejje observed that with the money, the company is to train 16 and more young people affected by pandemic who will be equipped and train with hands-on skills in banana fiber jewelry, photo flame, gift boxes and glass covers.
