KCB Bank Uganda has announced itself as the title sponsor of the upcoming Kenya Day – KCB Golf Tournament, reinforcing its role as a regional bridge-builder and underlining its commitment to celebrating East African cooperation.
In a show of strong support, KCB Bank Uganda handed over a cheque worth UGX 75 million to the Kenya High Commission in Uganda. This generous sponsorship is part of the countrywide events to celebrate Kenya’s Independence Day (Jamhuri Day), which falls on December 12. The golf competition is scheduled for 22nd November 2025, and will take place at the Uganda Golf Club.
During the cheque handover, KCB Uganda’s Managing Director, Edgar Byamah, spoke passionately about the bank’s regional ambitions. He emphasized that KCB, though founded in Kenya, has grown deep roots across East Africa — and initiatives like this tournament highlight its drive to strengthen bonds, share heritage, and generate value for its customers across borders.
The Kenya Day celebrations around this year are anchored on three main events:
- Kenya Day – KCB Golf Tournament, on 22 November at Uganda Golf Club
- Kenya Independence Day Commemoration, on 12 December
- Diaspora Day, on 6 December — an event that will engage KCB’s diaspora clients and showcase financial products that support cross-border investments, diaspora accounts, and banking tailored for East African communities.
The Kenya High Commissioner to Uganda, His Excellency Joash Arthur Maangi, expressed deep appreciation for KCB’s continued support. He hailed the partnership as a sign of growing cooperation and mutual respect between Kenya and Uganda.
By sponsoring the Kenya Day tournament, KCB Bank Uganda is not just facilitating a sporting event — it is also reinforcing its foundational values. For KCB, golf becomes a platform for driving unity, encouraging excellence, and creating meaningful engagement across East Africa.
