A particular challenge when illness struck mid-project led to the formation of a supportive community of designers—a move that has transformed how she handles projects.

Beyond running Motyeque Interiors, Maureen Otyek plays a pivotal role in the interior design community as the Vice President of the Interior Design Association Uganda (IDAU). The association, launched during a significant event at Next Media Park in Kampala, unites 22 founding members and over 120 designers with a shared mission to set industry standards and foster a collaborative network. This leadership position underscores Maureen’s dedication to advancing the profession and supporting her peers.
