100 Acres of Hope: Housing Finance Bank and Kooki Kingdom Join Forces to Restore Uganda’s Green Heritage under the Tiny Forests Initiative

In a groundbreaking stride toward environmental conservation and sustainable development, Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has secured 100 acres of land from the Kooki Kingdom to advance its flagship Tiny Forests Initiative, a bold commitment to plant 1 million trees by 2027.
This milestone reinforces HFB’s position as a leading bank driving sustainability and climate action in Uganda. The initiative aligns with the Bank’s purpose of financing a sustainable future for all, by fostering environmental stewardship, green innovation, and community empowerment.
The 100-acre donation from Kooki Kingdom will serve as a vital afforestation and biodiversity restoration site. Once fully established, it will host a mosaic of indigenous and bamboo species to promote ecological balance, enhance carbon sequestration, and support sustainable livelihoods through community-based conservation.
Doreen Nyiramugisha, Head of Marketing and Communications at Housing Finance Bank, expressed deep gratitude and optimism about the partnership:
