Stanbic Bank maternal healthcare support Uganda is making a meaningful impact through its digital payments solution, FlexiPay. The bank has donated essential medical equipment and Mama Kits to the maternity unit at Entebbe General Hospital to improve safe deliveries.

Every day, expectant mothers walk into hospitals hoping for safe childbirth. However, some facilities still lack critical equipment needed to protect both mother and baby. Stanbic Bank is helping to close this gap through a simple but powerful initiative.

How the FlexiPay Initiative Works

Stanbic Bank sets aside UGX 10,000 from every green fee paid via FlexiPay. The bank uses these funds to purchase life-saving medical equipment for hospitals across Uganda.

“This initiative goes beyond payments—it helps save lives,” said Arthur Kiwanuka, Head of Affluent Banking at Stanbic Bank Uganda. “Every mother deserves a safe delivery, and every child deserves a healthy start. We proudly partner with healthcare facilities to make that possible.”

Equipment Donated to Entebbe General Hospital

The bank donated critical equipment to strengthen maternal care services at Entebbe General Hospital. These include:

    • An infant baby warmer

    • A heavy-duty suction machine

    • A hydraulic operating theatre table

    • A standard Caesarean instrument set

These tools will help medical teams manage complicated deliveries more effectively. They will also improve response times and enhance patient safety.

Part of a Broader Development Commitment

Kiwanuka explained that this initiative forms part of a long-term national commitment. Stanbic Bank launched a three-year UGX 1 trillion development program that focuses on women, youth, and farmers.

So far, the bank has supported more than 85 health facilities across Uganda. Through these efforts, it continues to improve access to critical healthcare services and promote sustainable community growth.

Driving Social Impact Through Financial Services

Stanbic Bank demonstrates that financial services can create real social impact. By linking everyday transactions to community support, the bank turns simple payments into life-saving contributions.

No mother should lose her life while giving life. Through initiatives like this, Stanbic Bank continues to stand with Ugandan families—because Uganda is home, and the women who build it deserve every opportunity to thrive.
