ROKO Construction Ltd has been recognised as Contractor of the Year at the 2025 Uganda Construction Excellence Awards, organised by the Uganda National Association of Builders, Suppliers and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC). The awards ceremony took place on December 12, 2025, at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
The annual awards are meant to appreciate companies that have stood out in Uganda’s construction industry through quality work, professionalism, and responsible building practices. They also provide a platform for industry players to celebrate progress and innovation in the sector.
ROKO’s Chairman and Managing Director, Mark Koehler, said the award is a boost to the company’s workforce and a sign that its commitment to quality is being noticed. He explained that the company prioritises proper planning, strict supervision, and continuous improvement to ensure projects meet both local and international standards.
Koehler added that ROKO is preparing to take on even bigger and more complex projects in the near future, noting that the company’s strong internal systems and skilled workforce make this possible. He pointed out that ROKO invests heavily in training its technicians and craftsmen to maintain high levels of workmanship.
During 2025, the company completed and handed over several key national projects, including the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Jinja and the new Ministry of Finance headquarters in Kampala. Other major developments, such as works at Parliament and the National Planning Authority offices, are progressing steadily and entering crucial stages.
These projects underline ROKO Construction Ltd’s growing role in shaping Uganda’s infrastructure and supporting the country’s development across different sectors.
