Christine Musisi has worked at the highest levels of global development for over three decades, helping shape policies, strengthen institutions and empower communities across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

But beyond the titles, international assignments, and diplomatic negotiations lies a leader deeply committed to one mission: transforming people from the inside out.

From serving as Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa at UN Women to leading strategic reforms at UN-Habitat and later serving as Resident Representative for UNDP Tanzania, Musisi built a distinguished 27-year career within the United Nations system. Her work consistently focused on inclusive growth, governance, gender equality and sustainable development.

Yet even after operating within some of the world’s most influential institutions, Musisi believes Africa’s greatest transformation challenge is ultimately a leadership challenge.

That belief now drives her work through Inuka Ongoza Africa (INOZA) and her support for Joseph Business School Uganda, where she is helping nurture a new generation of purpose-driven leaders and entrepreneurs.

Leading Institutional Transformation

Throughout her international career, Christine Musisi became known for her ability to modernise systems and drive institutional change.

At UN Women, she led the transition of 14 country offices into one of the organization’s strongest performing regions globally, streamlining operations around women’s leadership and economic empowerment. During this period, she also spearheaded the establishment of the Africa Centre for Transformative and Inclusive Leadership (ACTIL) at Kenyatta University.

Her work later expanded into global urban governance at UN-Habitat, where she managed complex member-state negotiations and championed initiatives designed to bridge infrastructure financing gaps and strengthen citizen participation in urban development.

In Tanzania, she continued advancing innovation and inclusion by supporting catalytic funding programs that helped youth- and women-led businesses move from startup stage toward commercial investment readiness.

But while her career placed her in boardrooms and policy spaces across the world, Musisi never lost sight of grassroots transformation.

Leadership Rooted in Purpose

Musisi describes transformative leadership as the alignment of mindset, systems and enabling environments. For her, sustainable development begins when people discover agency, purpose and responsibility for change within their own communities.

It is a philosophy shaped not only by professional experience but also by faith and mentorship.

A certified John Maxwell coach and trainer, Christine Musisi has dedicated years to mentoring young leaders, women and social entrepreneurs. She currently serves as Founder and Executive Director of INOZA, a social enterprise focused on empowering individuals and organisations to thrive and lead with impact.

She is also an Elder at Victory City Church, where leadership development and mentorship remain central to her ministry and personal mission.

Her leadership journey reflects a consistent belief that true transformation is both spiritual and structural.

Investing in Africa’s Next Generation of Leaders

Today, Musisi is increasingly focused on raising ethical, visionary and values-driven leaders through initiatives like Joseph Business School Uganda.

The institution equips entrepreneurs, professionals and emerging leaders with practical business knowledge grounded in integrity, stewardship and purpose. For Musisi, this approach is essential for Africa’s future.

She believes leadership must go beyond qualifications and technical expertise. It must cultivate character, innovation and a commitment to societal impact.

At a time when many young Africans are navigating economic uncertainty and shifting global realities, Musisi sees transformational leadership education as a critical tool for unlocking both personal and national potential.

Building Impact That Outlives Titles

Christine Musisi’s story is not simply about climbing professional ladders. It is about using leadership as a vehicle for transformation.

Whether empowering communities in Kyrgyzstan, advancing gender equality policies in Africa, or mentoring young leaders in East Africa or supporting institutions that raise ethical entrepreneurs, her work has consistently focused on building systems and people that can sustain impact long after programs and projects end.

Through her continued work with INOZA and Joseph Business School Uganda, she is investing in leaders who will shape businesses, communities and nations with purpose and
integrity. And in doing so, Christine Musisi continues to embody what it truly means to be a leader making an impact.
