Excitement is building across Uganda as the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) gears up for the NSSF Kampala Hills Run 2025, one of the country’s biggest charity fitness events. Originally planned for an earlier date, the run has now been rescheduled to Sunday, November 2, 2025, and will take place at the Kololo Independence Grounds.
This annual event, organized by NSSF in partnership with Housing Finance Bank, MTN Uganda, and Vision Group, aims to raise funds to improve learning environments in public schools across Uganda. With a new date and renewed energy, the 2025 edition promises to be bigger, more exciting, and more impactful than ever.
Running for a Cause
The NSSF Kampala Hills Run is more than a sporting event; it’s a movement for change. The proceeds support projects such as classroom refurbishments, improved sanitation facilities, and the establishment of digital learning labs in public schools.
This year, NSSF targets to raise UGX 21.5 billion to promote digital education, giving students, especially in underserved areas, access to modern learning tools. The funds raised will also help reduce dropout rates and increase school enrolment.
Past editions have already made a difference: supported schools have recorded a 12% increase in enrolment and a 10% drop in student dropouts, proving that every step counts toward a better future.

Housing Finance Bank, a long-standing partner, has contributed UGX 100 million and encouraged the public to register early.
Meanwhile, MTN Uganda and Vision Group are amplifying the campaign through media and communications, helping spread the message far and wide.
Looking Ahead
The NSSF Kampala Hills Run 2025 builds on the success of previous editions, including the 2023 run held on July 2. After a break during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has returned stronger than ever, with a clear focus on digital education transformation.
Through this initiative, NSSF and its partners continue to empower schools, inspire communities, and invest in Uganda’s next generation of leaders.
As the big day approaches, Ugandans are encouraged to lace up their running shoes and take part, whether by running, sponsoring, or cheering on participants.
