Thousands of Ugandans turned out on November 2 for the 2025 NSSF Kampala Hills Run, held in the heart of Kampala, raising over UGX 1.5 billion to renovate 10 public primary schools nationwide.

The non-competitive event, organized by NSSF Uganda in partnership with MTN Uganda and Housing Finance Bank, featured 10km and 21km routes winding through Kampala’s iconic seven hills under the campaign ‘Run for Ondia’.

The funds will go toward upgrading classrooms, improving sanitation facilities, and providing e-learning resources. This builds on NSSF’s previous initiatives, which have supported over 40,000 learners and contributed to a 10 percent reduction in school dropout rates.

Event organizers and participants hailed the run as a perfect blend of fitness, community engagement, and social impact, highlighting the critical role of public-private partnerships in transforming education across Uganda.
