Zain announces the launch of its new eSports brand in line with the launch of the largest seasons of regional esports competition, organized by “EA Sports” in the Middle Eastern markets for the game “EA Sports FIFA 21”

It is considered a unique competition, first of its kind in the region as it will be organized in an official partnership with EA Sports, a world leader in digital interactive entertainment and “PlayStation.”

The competitions will host various major events as well as smaller community competitions with cash prizes, which comes right after the recent global launch of “PlayStation 5” and “EA Sports FIFA 21”, the latter of which was launched by “EA Sports” on October 9 in a series of “FIFA” games, and represents the 28th episode of the series.

It is scheduled that this regional edition of the electronic competitions will witness the holding of qualifying rounds between 1-5 December, with playoffs and finals occurring from 8-9 December and 15-16. This edition of the competitions will be organized in parallel with the launch of the new “Zain eSports” brand as it announces its alliance with the former Saudi FIFA eWorld Cup champion, Musaed Al Dossary, in the initial edition of the “EA Sports FIFA 21” challenge. Where Al-Dossary will support Zain in the promotional aspects of this exceptional event for fans of esports competitions. Moreover, Zain has collaborated in launching its eSports platform with eGen, a full-service esports agency and consultancy.

Commenting on the launch of the Zain eSports brand, Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, Chief Executive Officer of Zain KSA, praised Zain’s pioneering launch.

“At Zain we are always happy to cater to the needs of our digital generation in the Kingdom and the region. Especially that this generation is considered the most tech-savvy one, and has mastered the use of the latest innovative and modern technologies in the world of esports, the Kingdom alone hosts more than 5.8 million users of electronic gamers. This new eSports brand that we announce is an excellent opportunity for this generation as it provides new content with a super-fast internet experience, low latency, and larger capacity, all of which will provide a whole new experience for esports through our 5G network service.”

Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, Chief Executive Officer of Zain KSA
Zain eSports plans to identify and foster local talent in numerous ways, which includes creating a competition to select commentators for Arabic commentary, as well as creating a conducive environment for esports content creators aiming to create popular YouTubers.

Moreover, Zain eSports will support and use local social media influencers to promote leagues among local gamers. This manifestation of Zain’s digital lifestyle strategy is geared towards empowering society and driving socio-economic development by creating multiple opportunities for young people across the Middle East. Regional amateur gamers will also have the opportunity to win cash prizes and devices in a fair and competitive environment. Spectators will also be able to watch the gaming and content live over Zain’s eSports social media channels, predominantly Twitch and YouTube.
