Uganda’s coffee industry was in the spotlight at the 2025 Coffee Association of Canada (CAC) Conference in Canada. The event, themed “Common Grounds”, brought together coffee traders, members of the Coffee Association, and business professionals for tastings and business-to-business sessions.

The Ugandan booth, organized in collaboration with the Uganda High Commission in Ottawa and Uganda’s agricultural and trade institutions, drew thousands of visitors. Attendees enjoyed tasting Uganda’s coffee and learning about its unique aroma and flavor. The booth was busy throughout the event, highlighting the quality and richness of Uganda’s coffee.

Promoting Ugandan coffee is a priority for the Government of Uganda. Agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs work with foreign missions and partners to expand markets and showcase Uganda’s coffee.

Uganda’s coffee exports have been growing steadily. In the coffee year 2024/25, the country exported a record 8.2 million 60-kilogram bags of coffee, valued at 2.3 billion US dollars (8.1 trillion Ugandan shillings). These record exports show strong international demand for Ugandan coffee and reflect the country’s success in promoting its agricultural products.

Events like the CAC conference help Uganda connect with new buyers, strengthen trade relationships, and open opportunities for future business. By showcasing its coffee on the global stage, Uganda continues to build strong links in international coffee markets and highlights the value of its farmers’ work.
