Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has been awarded the Financial Reporting Excellence (FIRE) Award 2025 in the Banking Services & General Banking category. The recognition reflects the Bank’s consistent efforts to maintain transparent financial reporting and strong governance practices.

“This milestone reflects the collective effort of our team and the confidence our customers and partners continue to place in us,” said Michael Mugabi, Managing Director & CEO of HFB. “As we advance, we remain focused on trust, integrity and long-term value in Uganda’s financial sector.”

HFB has invested in improving its internal controls, financial reporting systems, and corporate governance. These efforts ensure clear communication with stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and investors. Winning the FIRE Award highlights the Bank’s commitment to accountability and transparent reporting.

For customers, the recognition assures them that HFB is a reliable and well-governed institution. Partners and investors also gain confidence in the Bank’s stewardship and long-term performance.

“Good governance and clear reporting are central to building strong relationships with our customers and partners,” said HFB’s Head of Finance. “This award motivates us to continue improving our processes and maintaining transparency in everything we do.”

HFB views this award as a step toward continuous improvement rather than a final achievement. The Bank will continue to strengthen its reporting systems, governance practices, and services, ensuring that stakeholders can confidently track its performance.

“Excellence in financial reporting is about being accountable to everyone we serve,” Mugabi added. “It’s part of our commitment to our customers, partners, and the wider community.”
