Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, has officially launched the Hisense Technology Museum Uganda, the first of its kind in East Africa. This project reflects Hisense’s commitment to innovation, education, and social impact in the region.

Developed with Ximing Group, the museum is the flagship project of Hisense’s 2026 ESG strategy. Instead of focusing solely on retail, it creates a permanent center for STEM education and community engagement. The museum is designed for both schoolchildren and the public. It features interactive exhibits on the physics of light, climate-smart engineering, and AI-powered technologies.

The launch event included headteachers from across Uganda. They marked the start of a nationwide program to provide students with practical exposure to global technology. Ms. Liu Mingshu, Managing Director of Ximing Group, said that after sixteen years in Uganda, the company’s focus has evolved. She emphasized that the museum builds upon the donation of fifty Smart TVs to schools. Rather than only providing digital tools, it now offers a world-class environment where young innovators can thrive. She added that community development is central to the Ximing corporate strategy.

Mr. Jason Ou, President of Hisense Global MEA and India, noted that Uganda is a key pillar of the company’s global social strategy. He described the museum as a “social classroom” to nurture the next generation of tech leaders. Hisense is moving from standalone products to integrated, service-based intelligent solutions. Moreover, this initiative reinforces the long-term partnership with Uganda’s Ministry of Education.

By launching the Hisense Technology Museum Uganda, Hisense demonstrates its dedication to shaping the future of STEM education in East Africa. The museum inspires students to explore technology and innovation while creating a lasting social impact.
