Wife to NRM Diaspora League Boss, Jalia Nagawa Awarded for Uniting Ugandans in California

The wife to NRM Diaspora League Chairman, Jalia Nagawa Walusimbi has thrown a party to her fans and supporters after she scooped a humanitarian award in US by AFRIFAMU awards 2020 early this month.

Nagawa who has been married to Hajji Abbey Walusimbi for over 20 years appreciated her fans at customers at Jaliz Cuisine of East Africa Restaurant which she co-founded with her husband.

AFRIFAMU stands for African Fashion And Music Fest and it is a platform where both music and fashion cross path and face each other while celebrating the glamour of African Culture.

Nagwa was awarded with the African Community Achievement Award for her contribution to the building of the Ugandan community in California that is has united Ugandans in California.

Nagawa is a businesswoman, a social activist and a performing artist who of remembered for her outstanding album ‘Nja Kuyimba’ of 1994 and having acted in a movie called Love collision 2012.

Jalia appreciates all her funs and customers at Jaliz Cuisine of East African Restaurant

“I would like to thank God for this award, this is too much for me, I would like to thank the Jaliz Cuisine customers and the California community, it’s because of you people that I have been able to receive the award,” Nagawa said.

She appreciated her family members and her husband, Hajji Abbey Walusimbi who is currently in Uganda for all the support that he has accorded her over time.

Nagawa thus organized a party to all the African community members in California at her Restaurant (Jaliz Cuisine of East Africa) on March 7, 2010

The Founder of AFRIFAMU, Tiana Bibish said that AFRIFAMU aims at portraying culture through its great cultural designs using the popular Ankara and Atogu materials from West, South, North, East and Central Africa.
