Juan Mata has signed a new one-year contract at Manchester United.
The Spanish club legend, 33, saw his deal at Old Trafford expire at the end of June and briefly became a free agent.
But Man Utd have confirmed Mata has now signed a new one-year deal.
Mata prepares to enter his eighth full season at the club.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce Juan Mata has agreed a one-year contract.”
“The contract will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2022.”
Mata joined United from Chelsea in January 2014 in a £37.1million deal and has gone on to score 51 goals in 273 games.
The former Valencia ace has helped the club win the 2016 FA Cup.
He also won the 2017 Europa League-League Cup double during his near-decade-long stint in Manchester.
Mata was limited to just nine Premier League games last season, scoring once.
