The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, in partnership with Douglas Events Ltd, the Uganda Society of Architects (USA), and the Surveyors Registration Board (SRB), is set to host the inaugural Uganda Real Estate and Housing Expo (UREHE) 2025 from 26th to 28th September at Kati Kati Grounds, Lugogo, Kampala.

Themed “Resilient by Design, Affordable by Intent: Shaping the Future of Real Estate,” the Expo aims to connect investors, developers, policymakers, and innovators to accelerate growth in Uganda’s real estate sector.

Why UREHE 2025 Matters

Uganda’s real estate industry contributes roughly 11% of GDP, with construction valued at UGX 2.6 trillion (2023/24). Yet, challenges such as housing affordability, rapid urbanization, and demand for climate-resilient infrastructure persist. UREHE provides a platform for public-private collaboration, investment matchmaking, and showcasing innovative solutions to these challenges.

Event Highlights

  • High-Level Conference (26th September): A full-day session at Kati Kati Murchison Hall featuring discussions on PropTech, diaspora investment, sustainable urban planning, policy frameworks, and market trends. Hon. Persis Namuganza, Minister of State for Housing, will officiate the opening. Attendance is limited to 200 participants.
  •  Three-Day Exhibition (26th–28th September): Over 300 exhibitors from East Africa will present innovations in sustainable construction, affordable housing, finance and investment, professional services, interior design, and smart living technologies. The Expo anticipates over 6,000 visitors, including developers, investors, architects, and other key stakeholders.

Industry Collaboration

UREHE 2025 is backed by top organizations, including the Uganda National Association of Builders, Suppliers, and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC), Interior Designers Association of Uganda (IDAU), Association of Real Estate Agents Uganda (AREA), Buganda Land Board (BLB), and the Global Institute of Property Studies (GIPS).

Get Involved

The Expo offers businesses an opportunity to showcase products, network with investors, and gain exposure to emerging market trends in Uganda’s property sector.
