Instead of marking its 62nd anniversary with celebrations and ceremony, DFCU Bank chose to give back to the community through a major health outreach in Jinja.

Held at Walukuba Grounds under the #dfcuHumanityDay campaign, the Great Community Health Camp brought together residents from across Busoga for free medical services, consultations, screenings, and health check-ups. The initiative was organized in partnership with Rotary Uganda and Obwakyabazinga Bwa Busoga.

The event reflected the bank’s commitment to celebrating impact through service and community transformation.

Jinja welcomed the initiative with warmth and excitement as hundreds turned up to access medical care and wellness services. The atmosphere was filled with a strong sense of togetherness, reflecting the vibrant spirit of Busoga.

Speaking during the event, Owek. Al-Haj Osman Ahmed Noor applauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare within communities.

“Health comes before everything else. By bringing care closer to our people, dfcu Bank is supporting His Majesty’s vision for a healthy, productive, and self-reliant Busoga,” he said.

DFCU Bank Executive Director Kate K. Kiiza said the bank’s anniversary is being used as an opportunity to directly impact lives across Uganda.

“At DFCU Bank, touching and impacting lives is what truly matters to us. Through our three-year, UGX 1 billion partnership with Rotary Uganda, we are bringing medical care closer to the communities we serve,” she noted.

Kiiza added that the Humanity Day initiative will extend beyond Busoga, with 17 health camps planned across the country as part of the bank’s anniversary activities.

She stressed that the bank’s focus is not only on financial services but also on improving the wellbeing of ordinary Ugandans.

For many residents who attended the camp, the event was more than a medical outreach. It was a reminder that community partnerships and shared responsibility can create meaningful and lasting impact.

As dfcu Bank marks 62 years, the institution says it remains committed to standing with communities, supporting livelihoods, and investing in initiatives that improve lives beyond banking.
